Positions
Published in Hardcover by Continuum International Publishing Group (1981)
Average review score:

he is a monolith, but also a manpositions is a collection of three interviews with derrida, all of which offer a pretty good introduction to his line of thought. this book is a lot better starting point than say, 'of grammatology', its really a lot less intimidating. this is of course because derrida is speaking verbally, 'improvising', and there isnt as much seemingly paradoxical word play. from 'positions' you can get a pretty good idea about what differance, logocentrism, and grammatology are all about. ignore all the criticism of derrida as a reductionist/nihilist who wants to demolish philosophy, he is a brilliant, poetic, innovative man.

Price Guide to Pepsi-Cola Cans
Published in Spiral-bound by Interactive Books (October, 1995)
Average review score:

Pepsi can collectors best bet so farI have had this book for a few years and it has helped in keeping my collection in order. It has almost every can produced in the United States from the first cone top, up through 1991. It has black and white photos of most cans, and a complete list of every can they found, ranging from standard issues,(from every bottler and variation) all the way to bank tops, and special events. I never actually counted, but I would say that there are at least 2000 cans listed in this book. I have over 1400 cans and this book has helped fill the gaps that are in my collection. And it's also alot easier to find what it is I am searching for, now that I know what's out there. The prices are subject to debate. All cans are valued by rarity. But value is in the eye of the collector. I would love to see an updated version, and this book does lack in foriegn cans (only a hundred or so listed and pictured). But it's a great way to start your collection, or keep track of what cans you need prior to '91. There is also a list of collectors, and some helpful tips in how to preserve and rate the condition of your cans.

Trinity Field Report: Psi Laws (Trinity Field Reports Series , No 3)
Published in Paperback by White Wolf Publishing Inc. (January, 1999)
Average review score:

The most useful of all published Trinity Field ReportsPsi Laws continues the tradition of the excellent Trinity Field Reports series: high quality in a small package at a very affordable price. Like all published Repots, Psi Laws is all-color and in-character. It can be roughly divided in two sessions: one talking about how authorities generally deal with each Aptitude, and another presenting cases in different countries that involved the use of psionic power. The previous two Trinity Field Reports (Extrasolar Colonies and Aliens) were nice, but most of the info found on them has eventually been covered by bigger sourcebooks. Not Psi Laws. The information here is extremely important for a serious Trinity campaign, and here's the only place you'll find it.

Fun, interactive storyMy son loves this book. The puzzles, mazes and hidden clues are challenging, but not too difficult for him at age 3 1/2. He has no trouble following Uncle Pete, Mary and Zak through their pirate adventures. We are looking forward to reading other books in this series.

Published in Paperback by Simon Pulse (January, 1981)
Average review score:

A young girl must adjust to her father's serious illness! When Jorie visits her father for the first time after his heart attack, she hardly recognizes him. He's no longer the capable, humorous, strong person she's accustomed to being with. As the days pass, her mother spends more and more time at the hospital and can't provide Jorie with the support she's used to. Even her sister goes away for a week to visit their grandmother. Jorie simply has to adjust to her father's illness by herself. Slowly, painfully, she learns how to come to grips with her mother's absence. But she never loses her sense of humor and spirited interest in everything going on around her. And she learns that even though her father is changed after his heart attack, he's still special-just in a different way. This is a poignant, often funny story about growth, self-discovery, and love.

Published in Audio Cassette by Chivers Audio Books (January, 1996)

well done performanceThe audio cassette provides an excellent reading of an amusing novel. Bruce Montague gives a lively performance befitting to the light spirit of the book. Although not great literature, Bates's novel is diverting and a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
